Rwan Ibrahim named WCAS Student Advisory Board Representative

Rwan Ibrahim was selected to represent Global Health Studies within Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences' Student Advisory Board (SAB)  during the 2020-2021 academic year. The SAB is the primary source of student advice for the Dean and Associate Deans of the College. ibrahimheadshot.jpg

About Rwan: Rwan Ibrahim (she/her) is a third year (class of 2022) Weinberg student from San Antonio, TX majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Global Health Studies. On campus, she is an active participant in the Arch Scholars network, Academic Support and Learning Advancement (ASLA), Peer Health Exchange, Muslim Cultural Students Association (McSA), and Menstrual Equity Activists (MEA). She does research on intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells with the Schmidt Lab in the Neurobiology department as well as global health research with Dr. Sarah Rodriguez on the surgical innovation of laparoscopic hysterectomy. She's passionate about uplifting black women and health equity, and some of her hobbies are running along Lake Michigan, learning to cook traditional Sudanese food, reading, playing her ukulele, and staying up to date with important social movements. She looks forward to representing GHS through the SAB!
