Northwestern University, The Program in Global Health Studies invites applications for a full-time teaching-track Assistant Professor of Instruction position, with a specialization in intersections of environment, race, and health, starting in September of 2022. We seek applicants with a Ph.D. in a social science, interdisciplinary, or public health-related field, such as sociology, political science, history, economics, disaster management, public health, epidemiology, environment, health policy, public administration, African American Studies or critical race studies, or related disciplines, whose research addresses environmental determinants of health as disproportionately affects Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color. Applicants whose work examines environment, health, and intersections of race and gender are particularly encouraged to apply. Geographic region is open. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. In addition to developing courses relating to their expertise, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the growing program in Global Health Studies, including teaching at least one of the required core courses (e. g., Introduction to International Public Health, Global Bioethics, Research Methods, History of Global Health or History of Biomedicine).
