Alumni Highlights
For our 20th anniversary celebration on May 17th, we were thrilled to invite four of our esteemed alumni to join us for an alumni panel to share their professional trajectories and insights with a room full of our graduating seniors, faculty and friends.
On May 17th 2024 at our 20th Anniversary Celebration, we hosted an alumni panel. Facilitated by graduating senior and GHS student marshal Esther Ubadigbo, alumni Alex Lofton (GHS ‘07), Almita Miranda (GHS ‘08), Veena Sriram (GHS ‘06) and Daniel Wozniczka (‘10) shared some of their highlights from their time as GHS students, and how the program influenced their professional and personal lives. A prominent highlight for several of them was their experiences in study abroad, which opened up substantial opportunities for them and expanded their thinking about the world. We were so thankful they were willing to share their time and insights with us!
In addition, four GHS alumni were selected for the Fulbright US Student Program, going abroad to work in Mexico, Taiwan, Spain and Bulgaria.
Meanwhile, Vivica Lewis (GHS ’23, MPH ’24) gave a fantastic TED Talk on the importance of comprehensive sex education.
And finally, the popularity of Northwestern’s Accelerated Public Health Program (APHP) has continued to grow, with our applicants doubling since its inception in 2017. So far, 49 students have graduated with an MPH though the APHP program, with about 30 GHS students or alumni currently in the pipeline.
